Easter Sunday

This past Sunday was Easter. I just want to share a picture of my darling angel with you all. She was a tad upset because she thought since I put her down..we were no longer going bye-bye. ha ha.

*sigh*

Every once in awhile you just need a break...and to sigh. This is one of those moments. So in my break...I will update you all.

On Chris- All of his results came back fine from his blood, ultrasound, CT, and urine samples. He still gets his pain every now and then so he has a follow up with the Doctor this month. My best guess is maybe a torn chest muscle? I really don't know.

On the Dogs- So Capone has torn his ACL. So now we have surgery awaiting, but we have to wait until we have the money to get it done. He's been 3 legging it around for the last week so we finally took him into the vet. This dog has cost us a small fortune. The cost is $1,500 to $1,700. Our hope is to get it done by July.

On Alissa- She's getting so big. I can't believe it. She's just about weaned herself from nursing. This has been really difficult for her. Being that she doesn't see me much, that's her only mommy and me time. We've started subsituting cuddling and stuff for nursing. The hardest part now will be bedtime and her 1 night time feeding at 3am. She's mostly done all the work herself. She has preoccupied herself with other things during her normal nursing time..and I havent' encouraged the nursing...and here we are. My best guess at this time is she's around 20 lbs. She has a Dr's appointment tomorrow so we'll get an official weigh in. She's still in some 6-12 month clothes, some 9 month clothes, but no bigger than 12 months. She's my little peanut. Still just her 2 teeth as well. That's okay. She can take her time :) I want to share these pictures with you because my angel is just too cute. We spent the day with Masch and Pasch at their house with Katie, Ben, and don't forget Mittens! Here are the pictures that Pasch took. We had too much fun!!! Visit with the Delmeges

Other than that..I guess not too much. We are really looking forward to David's wedding in June. It will be great to see the last of the Lanzone's married off and welcome Tiffany to our family.

Around the House

Lately we've been busy around the house. Here's some pictures of Alissa's room. To give you a "before" mental picture- this whole room was powder blue. We would've left it if we had a boy..but needless to say :) This we finished shortly after she was born, but I haven't posted any pictures. Lori...here they are :) After talking about it for so long ha ha




We also just finished the living room..well sort of. We still have to get the wall stuff and curtains, but at least the painting was done. We're very proud of our color choice on this one. We spent about 30 seconds picking it out because Alissa was getting fussy in the store. I think that's what makes this more rewarding because we didn't over analyze the choice. We love it! I'll post pictures once we get the rest of our pictures up and the curtains bought.




This morning we had fun in her room playing with her Nikes. Daddy of course will allow her to have a shoe collection at 1! This is only 3 from her collection. It's only beginning I'm afraid.... *sigh* :)




and lastly...the girl hanging out with me this morning :) We had fun before her morning nap. Oh...and FINALLY a tooth shot! She doesn't like to open her mouth but I caught her laying on my lap. :) Super sneeky!!

And Off She Goes....

Yesterday we were eating dinner. Alissa was playing in the living room right next to us. I turned around and saw her standing with no props and moving foward to a nice big butt plant. I was in shock- Could it be my angel was walking?! I immediately starting clapping and saying "YEAH" just incase she was walking....


Today, I get a phone call. Sure enough...she is walking by herself. Not running crazy yet, but she's walking to people and finally being brave enough to let go. Sure enough my suspicions of yesterday were correct. She DID walk!!


I'm so proud of my baby girl!!!



So an add on.... I came home from work and Chris had video'd some. Totally made my day!!

Another Tooth

This morning Alissa was eating and as she opened her mouth I thought I saw more white than just the one tooth. In between bites, she managed to let me stick my finger in her mouth. Sure enough...tooth #2!!! So she has both of her incisors on the front bottom. Horray!!!

"Nigh Nigh"

Alas my angel is growing up. She eats scrambled eggs and of course her favorites..poofs. She's just about walking on her own already as well. Up until now she has said mama and dada. Every now and then she mumbles stuff that we think sound a lot like actual words. She doesn't ever repeat them though so you're sure they're for real. Well this time she did. Last night I told her to say "night night" to grandma. We call her to say goodnight sometimes. Sure enough she said "nigh nigh" 3-4 times over and over. I thought it was too good to be true. Immediately I dialed my dad. I said say night night to grandpa. This giant smile crept over her face "nigh nigh" she said. ha!! :) I love it. She's too funny though. She will not say it for Chris. That's my mission- Tonight she will say goodnight to her daddy. :)

A Tired But Rewarding Morning

This morning I was seriously exhausted...and still am. Alissa is still getting up at night. Last night it was 3 times...maybe even 4. I'm such a zombie I can't remember. Our bedrooms are connected so it's hard to ignore her and when I have the tolerance to let her cry, Chris doesn't. So this morning it's 6:45am and she's up, ready for breakfast. I put her in her highchair...all is like normal. I put her food down for 1 second and I notice her doing something with her hands. It took me a second to catch on. She was signing "more". I've been teaching her this for months and apparently today was the day she decided to let me know she gets it! I did it a few more times just to see if it was my imagination...and it clearly wasn't. She was for sure signing "more". Even though this morning I was totally pooped....she added a nice surprise.
