Busy Bees

I haven’t had much time to update this it seems, even though I sit in front of a computer all day. So the happenings as of late…
Well I can finally reveal the surprise! Awhile back, Alissa was given a ballerina outfit from her third set of grandparents. So, we recently went to the studio and had some pictures taken for them. I didn’t want to post any on here for them to see before we had a chance to give them the gift! It was too funny. Alissa isn’t much of a ballerina type, but I still think she looks darling!!! Thanks to Denyse from D’Marie Photography for taking such wonderful pictures!! She also took some family shots as well. Here’s some from what I had on my work computer.

I have also had another big surprise come my way lately…a piano!! I’ve been wanting one forever, since my mom’s was given away. My in-laws gave me an early birthday/Christmas present!! I don’t have any pictures here at work to post, but I will update this posting with one soon.

Other than that, things on the home front are going well. Alissa is getting super big. She’s beginning the temper tantrum stage, which is oh so fun!! We’ve begun time outs to start setting boundaries and discipline. It’s definitely more challenging each day, but that’s parenting, right? Her teeth are coming in like mad men. She went from none to popping them all out at once. Poor Chris is going bananas with her home all day. Eventually our goal is for me to be able to stay at home and Chris get a day job, in addition to UPS. I would like to be able to take pictures or something to bring in some supplemental income when I stay home. But for now, until Chris can go full time at UPS, we’re stuck on this yucky schedule.

Fourth of July Happenings

We had a nice 4th of July. In the morning Chris's dad and I fixed the rose bush in the front because the rain had weighted it down. It ended up snapping the trellis it was on. The poor thing was a mess.

In the afternoon, we took a ride out to Irondequoit to go to the festival. It was nice to walk around and see all the craft vendors.

We weren't planning on going to fireworks because Alissa is still too young. But, we got a surprise visit again from Nana and Grandpa so Chris and I could go! It was a nice date night to end my favorite holiday!!

Trip to the Zoo

So this weekend, Chris and I took Alissa to her 1st trip to the zoo! She wasn't too thrilled at first because the stroller was eye level to all the wood "keep out" beams. It wasn't until we decided to pick her up that she could really see all the animals. She had a few favorites. She LOVED the baboons!! They were all over everywhere and kept getting into trouble with each other. Her other favorites were the bald eagles. Uncle Mike & Aunt Trish would be VERY proud! We had a really great time. :) I only have 1 picture here with me at work that I thought I would post.

Also, you may notice a new profile picture. It was taken by D'Marie Photography. There are more pictures to share, but I have a suprise for 2 VERY special people that I don't want to spoil it until they have a chance to see it! :)

More zoo pictures later!! ***updated 7/5 with a couple more pictures***

David's Wedding

So the last of the Lanzone's are married. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception. The whole vacation turned out great, with the exception of the rain. I wanted to post a few pictures for those that couldn't be there. None of these are edited...so bear with me :) I also don't want to post too much because the Bride and Groom haven't even seen them!! The best are saved for them. I don't want to have too much of a spoiler! :) Much more later, but for now...some wedding pictures..

Lists, Lists, and More Lists

Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. Next week is David's wedding and I have SOOOOOOOOO much to do before vacation!! I feel like I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off. The only difference is I'm feeling the "busy' anticipation. I really can't do any of the running until the weekend starts. So, lists are abounding. I have a list of a list. LOL :) I'm trying to keep myself sane with all the stuff and the boat loads of money that are going to go flying out the window!! Stuff adds up quick..gift...car rental...outfits... I do have a ton of stuff to get this weekend so I'm hoping for some great sales! I'm sure this will probably be the last posting before the wedding. I know I won't have time with a million and one things to do. There's some cool things coming so check back for some GREAT pictures!!

Mother's Day Nomination

So I was blog surfing...ha ha.. I ran accross this Rochester photographer who was doing a Mother's Day Contest. Here's my nomination and a link to her blog

"Sue"
Mom, Neighbor, Friend...

Nominated by Deb

I grew up across the street from Sue and her family so I don't remember a time in my life when she wasn't there. As a kid, her and her husband always offered a safe place for me to go. I became part of their family and one of the kids. Even though my real home was across the street, I never felt like a stranger in their home.

As I grew older, she was still a vital part of my life. When my mother passed away in 1998, Sue held my hand walking into the hospital room to say good-bye to my mom. As things changed in our lives, and my family began to go their separate ways, she took in my little brother. Her and her husband cleared a room for him in their house, already full with 6 people, and cared for him just like their own. Her caring heart led her to open her house for a 8th person and take in another "child" who needed parents as well.

I could go on forever about her, but she has been there for me daily and seen me through every situation imaginable. She has nursed wounds as a child from basic play, seen me through the death of my mother, advised me as a pregnant teen, through my miscarriage, and seen me on my wedding day.

Most recently, she has helped me in the delivery room and taken my daughter in as her granddaughter. I am blessed to have such a wonderful woman of integrity and strength to be there for me when I didn't have anyone else. I am blessed and honored to call her mom- a name I thought I would be too broken to use again.

Sue is a busy woman who works at a pediatricians office as a nurse during the week. She also is an elder's wife at our church and spends much of her time volunteering for different committees. She is a mother to 5 children, 4 biological and 1 "adopted", a mother-in-law, and a wonderful wife.

Make sure to check out her blog...
